Investment Advice

In order to achieve above-average returns over the medium-to long-term, consideration should be given to investing in real assets. The difficulty with asset-backed investments is choosing what type of asset, and more specifically which asset to invest in.   ‘Pooled investments’ such as managed funds provide access to a very wide range of assets, and choices made by the fund management team will reflect the investment objectives as identified in advance.

Understanding risk is critical, and investment decisions fall into 3 broad categories – cautious, balanced and adventurous. Many investors vary the level of risk across their investments, and in general we recommend that investment decisions should be based on a minimum term of 5 years.

At Clearwater, we will help you to set your investment objectives, and work with you to build a portfolio that is most likely to see those objectives delivered. Regular reviews ensure that opportunities and threats are identified and acted upon.

The value of investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.
